IT'S A BOY!

We were right! Baby Rauscher is a boy! We couldn't be happier! We had a doctor's appointment this afternoon which most of you already know due from the constant text messaging I was doing in between the ultrasound and doctor visit. The ultrasound lasted about 30 minutes and we got to see almost every inch of Baby R. Right before we started, the ultrasound technician asked us if we wanted to know the gender. It was pretty comical since literally the first image that came up on the screen was Baby R's penis! Ha ha. The heart looked like a little butterfly and it was definitely weird to see the skeleton. My mini C sections scar from my appendectomy had been killing me last week. It is better but is constantly sore/chafed feeling. My belly also seemed to pop out over night last week. I know why my scar hurts besides my stomach stretching-Baby Rauscher is kicking it nonstop! He had his ankles crossed during most of the exam, but showed us how he could kick his foot all the way up to the surface. He also put his hand up to his face a few times-possible thumb sucker (I was one). We got some good pics and they recorded some video footage.

Friday the 13th

I love Friday the 13th! It is one of my favorite days besides my birthday. It was always one of my dad's favorite days and we always made them special from the rest. Maybe it was the positive outlook and special treament my dad brought to this day, but I always tend to have great days and/or lucky days if its Friday the 13th. Twice I have received random unexpected money on these days, so those were probably be my favorite Friday the 13th's. Brian even greeted me this morning with a Happy Friday the 13th! When you are pregnant I have realized that the things you are not supposed to have you want the most - like a drink with caffeine in it! I am not even a huge soda person, but I want them all the time. Well I scored today becasue I stopped by the Fresh Market (beware-dangerous when pregnant) and decided just to double check if my favorite sodas in the world have caffeine. I turned the can over and they all said CAFFEINE FREE! Horray for Friday the 13th and for Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda and Cream Soda. I hope you all are having a great day!

Registries

I decided I couldn't wait any longer and started my registries. I still have a lot to add, but that will be a lot easier after we find out the gender in 11 days! I am registered at Babies R Us and The Land of Nod. I have had a lot of fun making my wish lists. I am also starting to panic about the enormous amount of crap babies require and the fact that I will have a baby in 5 months!

Pirate or Ninja?

Looks like we are having a ninja! We went to the doctor today and it took her awhile to hear the heartbeat. Everything sounded good and normal. It just took awhile and was a little hard to hear over all the kicking!! Good thing I can't feel Baby Rauscher yet. At least I know it's legs are working just fine. We have a date for gender-Feb. 25th 1:45 pm. That's only 3 weeks away-I am beyond excited! They are going to print lots of pics and take a 2-3 minute long video for us.

On another note-I have been dying to nest if you can't tell. Since I don't know the gender yet, I worked on another project. Below you will see pics of my finished entryway.I got the wonderful table at my favorite store (TJ Maxx Home Goods in Brentwood) last year, but hadn't really done much to dress it up. Brian got me a gift card to PB for Christmas so I used it to buy baskets and hurricanes. I got the picture at none other than TJ Maxx. Sure I might have some rooms missing furniture in my house, but this was more in my budget :)
