Finding Out

November 15th, 2008: "Brian is that a second line?" "Is it too faint?" "Let's go Google first response results." It would only be appropriate that a Google search confirmed my pregnancy. Our research told us that any sign of a second line is a positive result. We went out to dinner and decided that we should make sure by taking another one in the morning-maybe it was faulty. However, I had taken one the day before, thought it was negative and threw it in the trash. When Brian got home I told him I had taken one (he wasn't pleased I didn't wait for him). I told him it didn't matter because it was negative and yanked it out of the trash. WAIT-there was a faint second line, but it was hardly visible and it wasn't there after the designated time. We threw it back in the trash without even a second thought. Of course, I thought about it the next night when another faint line appeared. OK, back to November 15th, I have a small bladder and wake through the night to alleviate it. I woke up at 4a.m. and took a test. I walked back in the room, woke Brian, told him I was definitely pregnant, and we went back to sleep. I still have the tests in a Ziploc on the back of the toilet. I will throw them away soon, but its just a little reminder of things to come!

The next day we went to our friends house (the Smiths) and it was all we could do not to tell. 2 of my friends guessed I was pregnant and my response was laughing out loud (Courtney and Katherine). I'm not too good at lying.

I had my first doctor's appointment on December 2nd. She confirmed my pregnancy and did my first ultrasound (the date is wrong on it). You can't really see anything but the baby is between the two x marks. She said she could tell the heart was already beating and it had probably started in the last 24 to 48 hours!
